Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween! Gabriel had a great time trick-or-treating. Here in Aurora, t-o-t starts at 4pm and goes until 7:30pm. That was different than we are used to. We went through our own neighborhood but didn't get much loot - so we headed to another neighborhood and got lots of treats. Gabe was such a cute fireman and really enjoyed seeing the other kids in their costumes! Hope yours was spooky too!!

Metal for Gabriel

Gabriel just finished up a 6 week Sports class through our local parks & rec. He had a great time learning about sports and playing a new one each week. Roy attended class with him and they had a lot of fun. They played t-ball, soccer, basketball, football and hockey. He really liked his Coach Mike, who made things really fun for the kids. During his last class he got a medal...he's very proud of it!

Raking Leaves

Today we finally got the leaves raked. Dad did a bunch of them earlier in the week for us and filled up a bunch of small pumpkin bags. We did more today and filled one huge pumpkin bag! It was a perfect day, about 57 degrees and sunny! Take a look http://picasaweb.google.com/gabesmom1003/RakingLeaves

Museum of Science & Industry

This past Monday, Roy and I both took the day off and took Mom, Dad and Gabriel all down to the Museum of Science & Industry. It was great!! Almost every exhibit is hands-on and very interactive. It was perfect for Gabe since he likes to push buttons! Check out the pictures http://picasaweb.google.com/gabesmom1003/MuseumOfScienceIndustry

Gabriel's Birthday Party

Gabriel had a wonderful birthday!! We spent most of the day at Chuck E. Cheese! Everyone played games and ate pizza - it was fun! With all the tickets we won, we bought a CEC t-shirt and a gum ball machine. After that, we had cupcakes and a cool ice cream cake from DQ! Everything was Hot Wheels themed! He opened his presents and got so much cool stuff....from a football, board games, clothes, video games and a new bike!!

Downtown Chicago

Boy has this past weekend and week been so busy! My parents came in from Michigan for Gabriel's birthday. We took a trip to downtown Chicago:

  • Train downtown
  • Navy Pier
  • River and Lake Architectural Boat Tour
  • Millennium Park (Cloud Gate & Crown Fountain)
  • Hancock Building
  • Train back home
WHEW!!! We all had a great and tiring day. I think my parents had a great time on their first visit to Chicago!! Check out the pics at: http://picasaweb.google.com/gabesmom1003/DowntownChicagoOctober202007

Pumpkin Patch & Carving

Roy, Gabriel and I all headed to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had a great time on the hay ride. Gabe and Roy even had a hay fight - what a mess! Gabe loved feeding the animals, playing in the moon jump and the tire swing. We didn't get pumpkins though. On Sunday, Robert was off work, so we went to another pumpkin patch and bought 3 big pumpkins. Then we went home and carved them! Gabe did not like them and was not at all interested them! Oh well, the 3 of us had fun doing it!

Home Improvement

Saturday, October 13, 2007 - Today while Gabe was napping Roy and I put up new blinds in my scraproom. They make the whole room look so much better and brighter! Roy also helped me hang some 12x12 frames of scrapbook layouts I had done. Lastly we hung a big shelf on the wall and organized some things. All-in-all, excellent home improvement!

Fall is Here!!

Boy is it ever!! Last night the temperature dropped and it sure got chilly!! I was only about 60 degrees today. Gabriel even told me this morning that "the trees are falling!" I know he meant the leaves...but it was cute. It's supposed to get down into the 40s tonight...brrrr! Good cuddling weather! We are hoping to get to a pumpkin patch/apple orchard this weekend. We haven't bought any pumpkins yet and we'd love for Gabriel to carve one. I'll post pictures if we do! Enjoy Fall 'cause it's here!!

Sunday, October 7, 2007

Today was pretty routine for us. We ran some errands and spent some time doing laundry and cleaning the house. We finally cleared most of the remaining boxes from our bedroom...that felt good!

Roy started his "triple O" basketball league. Triple O = Old, Overweight and Out-of-shape. LOL It's actually a 40+ men's league and they had a good first night. They play every Sunday for 7 weeks from 4-7pm. It will be good exercise for him. He says that he's one of the younger and thinner players...we'll see when Gabe and I go watch him one night (I'll take pictures)!!

Gabriel's 4th Birthday

So as most of you know, Gabriel's 4th birthday is coming up...October 21st. I would love for him to get some mail...he likes mail! If you would consider sending him a birthday card, I know he would love it! If you don't have the address, let me know and I'll send it your way!! Thanks!

Today was a busy day for us. Gabriel (and dad) had sports class in the morning. They played hockey. They we headed to St. Charles for Scarecrow Fest. It was very fun. It would have been more fun if the temperature hadn't been 91 degrees!! Yep, that's right, 91!! Something about looking at pumpkins and scarecrows when it's that hot that's just not right.

After that we went to a Hay Ride at Blackberry Farms. We got to ride the train 3 times, which made Gabriel very happy. Then we went on a long hay ride (with no hay). We told stories around the campfire and ended the night with smores! It was pretty fun but would have been better with cooler, more fall-like weather.
